Garrett grew up in California. These days, he is a fiction writer, critic, and PhD Candidate in English (Literature & Creative Writing) at the University of Utah.
His writing appears in venues like The Florida Review, Full Stop, The Rumpus, and Hayden’s Ferry Review, among others. He is a contributing writer at Chicago Review of Books, an erstwhile editor at venues like Quarterly West, and a proud community college educator; once, he even finished an MFA in creative writing.
